10.5 Phase II. Define - Creating a Vision

10.5.1 Purpose and process

The purpose of the Define Phase was to take the insights and opportunity areas developed in the Discover phase through a collaborative and iterative process of analysing, feedback and synthesis to focus a specific direction for solutioneering. This process helped to further refine the opportunity areas, ‘create a future vision’ for the ASHA cadre, draft actionable design challenges and design drivers as a basis for co-creating strategies and solutions for improving the work of ASHAs in the subsequent Create phase.

The five-step Define process was carried out iteratively between Oct 2019 to the end of the project in April 2021. The following visual gives an overview of the process, key activities and outputs. The activities and results have been further elaborated on the subsequent sections.
