A Datasets
This text uses datasets derived from freely available public health datasets for examples and exercises. In many cases the original datasets were modified in some way (e.g., taking a random subset, deriving variables).
These datasets are suitable for teaching only. The author makes no claim or implication that any inferences derived from these teaching datasets are valid. If you wish to use a dataset for publishable research, obtain the data and documentation directly from each source. Each has a unique design, and it is vital to understand the details before using the data for research.
For each teaching dataset, the dataset itself, instructions regarding how to download the dataset, and/or R code for creating the dataset are available at
RMPH Resources. To use the code in this text as-is, create an R project with a subfolder called Data
, place all the datasets in that subfolder, and run R from within your project.
