Thoughts on Sect. 7.3
Students commonly forget the square root.
Furthermore, the calculators may use scientific notation to display the results from some calculations (e.g. \(2.2894\times 10^{-2}\) or \(2.2894^{-2}\) as it displays on some calculators); many students will have no idea what's going on.
Thoughts on Sect. 7.6
If you wish, you can form a CI for the ruler-drop (using jamovi).
In particular, if you get a negative number for one (or both) of the CI limits, you can discuss what the negative number (i.e., negative difference) means.
