11.2 Understanding correlations and regression
On each scatterplot in Fig. 11.1 for which a linear relationship is appropriate (there are four!):
- Draw or estimate the 'best' straight regression line (where appropriate).
- From the line in Part 1. above, estimate the slope for each line.
- From the line in Part 1. above, estimate the intercept for each line.
- Then write down an estimate of the regression line equation.
