A.2 FAQs About the Lab
I will attempt to answer some of your questions about the dry lab here. If your question isn’t listed here, then you can always send your questions to me via Gmail.
Is the lab run by prof. Davey or prof. Ardina?
The lab is actually run by Mu Yuguang - you may remember him as the professor for BS1002: Biophysical Chemistry.
However, I do not know who will actually be reading your report. Perhaps all three professors will be reading your work, perhaps prof. Mu and the TAs will be reading your report, or perhaps prof. Mu himself will be reading everybody’s reports, but there’s no need to lose sleep over this.
Is the lab hard?
Difficulty is subjective, but if you ask me, it’s not.
If anything, it’s more tedious than it is hard.
Will there be live demonstrations of the lab by prof. Mu?
Yes, there will be live demonstrations.
Are there any constraints (i.e., page or word count constraints) for our lab report?
Not that I’m aware of.
However, quality is always better than quantity, so there is no need to stress about writing 20 pages if you really have nothing else to write about.
How did you write your lab report in columns of text?
That’s because I used \(\LaTeX\) to write and typeset my report.
Perhaps there is a way to do something similar in Microsoft Word or in the text editor of your choice, but there is no need to fret about writing your lab report in the same manner that I have written mine.
Formatting is only a small part of your report - what is more important are the contents of your report.
