Since DENV-3 has low seroprevalence, it is possible that there is a higher chance of an outbreak occurring.

Vector-control has lead to a 10-fold decrease in dengue infections, but also a lower rate of susceptible individuals getting the disease. However, this has also lead to a decrease in population immunity in the past 13 years.
