In Singapore, food safety is the shared responsibility of the Agri-Food Veterinary Authority (i.e., AFVA), the NEA, and the MoH.

As of 2019, the food sciences department of the AVA, the HSA, and the NEA will merged under one new board: the SFA (i.e., Singapore Food Agency).

At the same time, all plant and animal-related matters have been handed over from the AVA to NParks.
