However, biotechnology also includes:

  1. Bioinformatics

  2. Blue biotechnology

    Deals with marine and aquatic applications

  3. Green biotechnology

    Deals with agricultural processes

  4. Red biotechnology

    Deals with medical processes

  5. White biotechnology

    Deals with industrial processes.

Genetic engineering is the development of plants and / or animals with altered genetic material - altered in a way that is unlikely to occur naturally via mutation or recombination events.
