1.1 Installing R
The first step in this journey is installation of R and RStudio. See RStudio Education for Beginners for links to installing R and RStudio, as well as excellent learning resources. Or follow the instructions below.
DO: Install R on your personal computer from this link.
If the above link is outdated, try The R Project for Statistical Computing website and search for “Download”.
- Select Windows, Mac, or Linux.
- Windows
- Download and install the “base” distribution.
- Download and install “Rtools” (which helps with some package installations).
- Choose the appropriate version (32 bit or 64 bit) for your computer.
- Mac
- Go to the section headed “Latest release:” and select that version.
