1.1 Week 1 goals

More specifically, the goals of this chapter are for you to:

1. have an appreciation of the background and development of R
   
2. understand the main components of the R ecosystem
   
3. be able to write, execute, save and organise simple R programs
   
4. to be confident in using RStudio for basic coding tasks
