Chapter 9 Speaking

9.1 Overview

A couple of speaking tasks appear in courses’ Sakai documents. Major speaking tasks are responding to discussion questions and preparing a presentation. I’m sure there are other speaking tasks students need to do, but these tasks appear in course docs.


9.1.1 Answer discussion questions 11/30

Students have to respond to discussion questions in some courses.

Group Discussion Questions: 

1. What motivates people to get married (or live together)? 
2. Is there a motivational or emotional difference between the two types above? 
3. What motivations/emotions can cause couples to break up? 
4. Are these justified? 
5. What change in thinking do you think is needed to promote happiness in couples?

Students give presentations in two of their courses.
