Chapter 10 Referencing

10.1 Overview

Information in course docs shows that students need to reference appropriately, using APA formatting guidelines. Referencing tasks (and associated skills) often appear to be needed in conjunction with other writing tasks.


10.1.1 Credit sources 17/30

Students have to credit sources in writing and in other texts. Course instructors often provide reference entries in their PPT slides for information covered during lectures. The need to credit sources also appears in many syllabi.

10.1.2 Use APA formatting guidelines 8/30

Several course documents make explicit mention of the need to follow APA formatting guidelines.

10.1.3 Be familiar with TurnItIn 5/30

Several course docs talk about using TurnItIn for submitting written work or some kind of plagiarism-detection software (probably TurnItIn).
