Chapter 8 Conclusions & Acknowledgements
8.1 Conclusions
The Sci-I Project has been a great joy to develop and evolve over time to provide students in grades 6-9 with an authentic experience developing testable scientific questions and working with real-world data. Through our own experiences as well as the evaluation data we have seen over and over again that the project successfully increased educators’ and students’:
- understanding of the process of science,
- confidence in designing, conducting, and presenting science investigations,
- identity as a scientist, and
- awareness of what it means to be a scientist.
We are excited to continue to scale and sustain the project through a broader variety of implementation schemes and partnerships. We look forward to hearing how you replicate or adapt our approach for the needs of the students or schools in your area. Together we can continue to provide transformative and inspiring opportunities for scientists in training to tackle real-world problems and be successful in their data analysis.
