Conventions

The following naming and style conventions are used throughout the book.

  • Programming code, functions: code
  • Variables: var
  • Formulas and mathematical expressions: \(f(x)=\{x:x\in s\}\)
  • Packages or libraries: package
  • Boolean values: \(TRUE\) and \(FALSE\)

Audience

The book is intended to support a first undergraduate course in information science.
