4.1 Introduction

The following sections present the disaggregating demographics used in analyses in this report. All of the variables were collapsed for analyses and better interpretation. Please note all data visualizations in this section are interactive; hover to see the percentage breakouts.

4.2 Age / Generation

Approximately 46% of women who responded fell into the Generation X category (per generational categories from Pew Research Center) — born between 1960 and 1980. As a note, no survey respondents reported being born before 1943 or after 2002. Please refer to the Appendix for the full distribution of respondents by birth year.

4.3 Size of Employer

More than half of the women responding to the survey (55%) worked for primary employers with 250 or more employees. Slightly more than 1 in 5 (21%) respondents reported working for organizations with fewer than 20 employees.

4.4 Race / Ethnicity

Most women (71%) identified as White, non-Hispanic. Approximately 29% of respondents identified as another race / ethnicity or multiple races / ethnicities. Please refer to the Appendix for the full distribution of respondents by race/ethnicity.

Three-quarters of the women responding to the survey reported making less than $100,000 in the past 12 months. Please refer to the Appendix for the full distribution of respondents by wage income.

Over half of the survey respondents identified as White, non-Hispanic, and made less than $100,000 in the past 12 months. The smallest share of women (6%) identified as Non-White and/or Multiracial and reported earning $100,000 or more in the past year.
