2.1 Data

Data used for this report consists of data requested and received from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, as well as data that is publicly avbailable online.

Data received from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife was summarized or redacted as needed to maintain confidentiality as specified in California Fish and Game Code 8022. The threshold for maintaining confidentiality in data summaries released publicly is that information (any row level summary) must be the result of three or more fishers, vessels, and businesses. Although raw data was requested for this report, raw data may only be released to fisheries management agencies and/or academic institutions engaged in fisheries research.

Redaction and aggregation of these records is consistent with our confidentiality requirements which was previously discussed.
    • Rows categorized as “Not Specified” reflects business registration records which did not report a county in their address.
    • Summary of results for year 2020 are partial and include only landings reported through 11/7/2020.
