# Chapter 5 Other continuous distributions

In addition to the normal distribution, there are many other continuous distributions that are commonly used in statistics. The below table summarises a few, followed by example probability density functions graphically displayed. We will revisit some of these distributions later on in the subject.

Distribution Parameters
Student's $$t$$
$$X\sim t_{\text{df}}$$
$$\text{df}$$ (degrees of freedom)
F
$$X\sim F(d_1, d_2)$$
$$d_1, d_2$$
Chi-squared
$$X\sim \chi^2(k)$$
$$k$$
Exponential
$$X\sim \text{EXP}(\lambda)$$
$$\lambda$$
