Chapter 1 Introduction

Welcome to the Grange-Lab Manual. The manual was developed by me, Jim Grange. It is intended to represent my vision for how the lab should function, to provide clarity on my expectations of lab members, to provide clarity on what lab members can expect from me, to provide an overview of the lab mission and its core values, and to provide answers to frequently asked questions.

All lab members—from BSc undergraduates to post-doctoral students—will be expected to read this lab manual. The manual is a dynamic document, so some sections will be added and/or revised as the lab grows and develops. I will inform all lab members when major changes occur.

The Grange-Lab manual was inspired by other similar works see for example the Peelle Lab Manual and the MemoLab Manual. This manual is licence under a CC Attribution 4.0 Licence.
