Chapter 1 Measures of location

First, let's discuss measures of location, or, measures of central tendency. These measures are designed to tell us what is a 'typical' value in a given set of data. In this section, we will discuss the following measures of location: mean, median and mode. We will also discuss some other useful summary statistics: quantile, percentile, minimum and maximum.
