Chapter 1 Deconstructing a scientific paper
A scientific paper consists of many pieces, traditionally, at least in psychology, some regular components are:
- A title page
- Containing authors and their affiliation(s), addresses and some other stuff
- An abstract with some keywords
- The introduction to the paper
- A section on methods
- The results
- Often containing Tables and Figures in the main body, or added after references
- A discussion section
- And finally, references to other scientific articles cited in the paper
